Frank Pipia, Sr. designed "The Italian Rose" in 1977 as a full size t-shirt design that immediately was worn with pride by many Italians and non-Italian Americans nationwide being sold at festivals and Italian import stores across the country. An HBO original movie "The Wild Rose" continually had its lead actors wearing an Italian Rose which added to its popularity.
Pipia designed The Italian Rose which he calls a symbol of Strength and Beauty, while reminiscing, growing and nurturing his beautiful rose bushes at his parents home in a predominately Italian neighborhood in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Never, ever thinking that his design would sell well over 1 million copies. Pipias wife Carol believed in the design from the start, she encouraged her husband to have the design mass produced. Carol Pipia marketed the design, they later opened a manufacturing facility which housed high tech screen printing and computerized embroidery equipment to produce the design and kept up with the high demand.
The Italian Rose is just as popular today with son Frank, Jr. continuing the tradition.
All designs available in Polos, Sweatshirts, Tees, Hoodies, and more!
